Organ & Lightshow - Charity Evening
The Walcker organ has fallen silent – we continue to play for it.
The exceptionally hot summer has taken such a toll on the historic Walcker organ that it is currently unplayable.
This shows just how urgently its restoration is needed.
The four charity evenings will take place as planned. Performances will be on the Eppel organ at the Votive Church – in support of restoring the historic Walcker organ.

The Walcker Organ
Since the construction of the Votive Church, an organ has been part of its equipment and is located in the gallery above the main entrance. Built in 1878 by E. F. Walcker and inspected by Anton Bruckner, this organ is one of the most important instruments of its kind, with 61 stops, three manuals, and 3,762 pipes.
Despite interventions and war damage, the original construction has remained largely intact. A restoration was carried out in 1995/96 - but today a comprehensive renovation is urgently needed to preserve this unique sound monument for the future.
